With just over a week left before the end of the first half of 2011, the number of Irish Company Start-Ups has already exceeded the figures we saw for the first half of 2009 and 2010!

According to the latest statistics on Vision-net.ie 7,012 Companies have been formed in Ireland this year (between 1st Jan and 21st Jun). This is already slightly up on last years total for the first six months of the year (7,009) and 2009's figure of (6,660).

Company Incorporations '08 - '11

1st half of the year (January to June)

As you can see, this year's figure for company incorporations already exceeds the figures that we've seen for the full first six months of 2009 and 2010. It's unlikely that the figure will reach the number we saw in 2008 but it does continue the upward trend that we've seen in the last two years.

On average, 280 new companies have been formed per week this year, each of these companies could be potential clients or competitiors. The most popular industries for Start-Ups this year include...
