Entrepreneurial spirit in Ireland remains high in 2013

Men and women in Ireland continue to create opportunities for themselves with over 11,000 of them becoming a director of an Irish company for the first time this year!.

So far this year 11,375 individuals have become the director of an Irish company for the first time.

This figure is aided by the almost 10% increase in company start-ups we've seen this year compared to the same period in 2012 (7,370 v 6,742).

Of these first time directors 39% are female with 61% being male with an average for both groups of just over 42 years.

This entrepreneurial spirit is not solely on the part of new directors, a total of 5,482 existing directors have accepted a new directorial role this year.
